We pause in the middle of my retelling of "The Horse and His Boy."
Will: "Why did the prince want to marry Susan so bad?"
Me: "I think Susan was supposed to be very beautiful."
Will: "Well, that's broken love."
Me: "That's very true, Will. Rabadash shouldn't have wanted to marry Susan just because she was beautiful."
Will: "She was smart though. I bet she knew he would be a bad husband. If they had kids, he'd probably say, 'Susan!! Take care of the kids!! I'm going to work and I don't care about them.'"
Me: "Yep. He probably would have been just like that."
Will: "She was good at choosing a husband. I bet she would have people over to her house, and then the next day she made them leave and said, 'You're not a kind person!'"
